Our Programmes

Climate Action

In response to the urgent climate crisis, we work closely with communities to promote environmental stewardship. Our efforts include grassroots initiatives such as reforestation, coastal clean-ups, and climate education. We are affiliated with the D+M Hydrogen Energy Association and Swiss Protect the Planet Association, and support broader movements like Planethon365 and Salt of the Earth, a project by Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter, which aligns with our commitment to sustainability.

Mondejar Foundation Participates in “Salt of the Earth” Premiere at Venice

8 Sept 2024 - Venice, Italy – Mondejar Foundation had the honour of participating in the world premiere of Salt of the Earth, a multimedia production by Sophie Hunter Studio that highlights the urgent need to protect salt marsh ecosystems. Held during the Venice Biennale and Venice Film Festival, this event offered a compelling blend of art and environmental awareness.

The event began on Thursday, 5 September, with a guided boat tour of the Venice Lagoon led by Professor Andrea D’Alpaos, a leading expert on the ecology of the lagoon. Patrons, including Mondejar Foundation founder Minerva Mondejar Steiner, gained exclusive access to areas within the salt marshes, gaining deeper insight into their fragility and ecological importance. The tour was followed by a Patron Lunch on one of the historic islands in the lagoon, offering guests a unique opportunity to reflect on the importance of preserving these ecosystems.
